Passenger Ferries

Our passenger ferries operate between March-October and there’s no better way of exploring our towns and coastline than getting out onto the open waters and best of all, if you’re lucky enough you may even spot a pod of Dolphins swimming alongside you.

The Western Lady Ferry Service is operated by the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company and operates from North Quay, Torquay Harbour, running regular passenger ferries between Torquay and Brixham. They also offers family fishing trips, wildlife cruises and evening cruises during the season.

Paignton Pleasure Cruisies run regular Torquay to Paignton and Brixham ferry service plus offer wildlife cruises and best of all, the ferries are dog friendly.

 

Steam Train

The Dartmouth Steam Railway from Paignton runs for seven miles in Great Western tradition along the spectacular Torbay coast to Goodrington Sands, Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary and on to Kingswear. The scenery is superb, with seascapes right across Lyme Bay to Portland Bill on clear days.

 

Cycling

Cycling on the English Riviera is an ideal way to explore our stunning coastline and enjoy a leisurely cycle with the family by the beach and best of all there are plenty of places to stop off to enjoy a light snack, ice cream or a delicious Devon cream tea.

Torbay Cycle Hire in Paignton have a great range of bikes to choose from and if you’re not keen on navigating any hills then why not cheat and rent one of their electric bikes.

Open Top Bus

The Golden Hop 122 open top bus connects Babbacombe, St Marychurch, Torquay Harbour, Paignton and Paignton Zoo, 7 days a week. There is no better way to see the sights of our glorious Torbay than from the top deck. If you fancy exploring further afield,  Stagecoach also offer regular services in and around South Devon.

 

 

On Foot

The English Riviera is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful places in the UK, making it an ideal place to take a stroll or test out your new hiking boots. There are so many walks, both big and small, that allow you to do just this and have over 22 miles of coastline where you can discover many hidden gems that are found off the beaten track, waiting to be explored along the South West Coast Path.
